Oranjestad- Employees of both Sheriff Security and Intertek Caleb Brett turned out in big numbers yesterday to cast their votes in the referendums organized by Government Mediator for the BES Islands, Anselmo Pontilius.
The employees of both companies also voted overwhelmingly in favor of representation by All for 1 Union. Information obtained by the BES-Reporter shows that at Sheriff Security 12 out of 13 employees voted in favor of Union representation.
At Intertek Caleb Brett there were a total of 15 employees who could vote in the referendum. Of the 15 eligible voters, 12 voted in favor of representation by All for 1 Union, while 1 employee could not participate as he was working on a ship and 2 employees did not show up.
In both companies All for 1 received a strong mandate to negotiate with the respective employers on their behalf.
Intertek and Sheriff Security now join the list of companies represented by All for 1 Union, together with the employees of, among others, Nustar, Colorfin and SEHCF.
Now that All for 1 has won the referendums, they can start the process to negotiate more favorable conditions for the employees of both companies.
