Kralendijk, 27th January 2017 – WEB Bonaire is training employees to Emergency Response (ER). Recently, 28 employees successfully completed the training First Aid/CPR/AED certification for ER. WEB welcomes this step towards greater safety at work and congratulates the participants with the result.
The training has familiarized the employees with basic techniques for aid in their work situation. They have the insight to be able to act in CPR/AED and perform first aid emergency and non-emergency care.
Theory and practice
The theoretical classes focused on the organization of emergency services, the provision of first aid and moving injured persons. The theoretical part was concluded with a written test.
In practice, the participants exercised CPR according to the Dutch Resuscitation Council, transport of injured people and life-saving operations (first aid). There was a special practice exercise tuned to the working situation at WEB. Also the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) has been practiced.
With this 12-hour first part of the training to ER, the 28 employees of WEB obtained a G2015 certification with a validity of two years. A yet to be determined number of them will follow the course ER Firefighting and Evacuation.
This course, which leads to full ER certification, includes preventing and extinguishing fires, evacuations in emergency situations, rescue operations and maintaining communication with emergency services and institutions.
