Bonaire Covid-free again

Kralendijk- After a ‘second wave’ which lasted nearly 2 months, Bonaire is completely Covid-free again.

Like has been the case for quite some days, there have been no new infections on the island. The last person who tested positive for the Virus has also recovered, bringing the total cases on the island back to 0.

Bonaire is joining the two other BES-islands, St. Eustatius and Saba, which have also been Covid-free for some time now.

BES-bubble

While there is officially a ‘BES-Bubble’, in practice people from Saba and St. Eustatius can arrive on Bonaire without PCR-test or mandatory quarantine. This however is not the case when residents of Bonaire travel to St. Eustatius. The latter may change now that Bonaire is Covid-free again.

Bonaire however is ‘open’ to flights from The Netherlands, while St. Eustatius and Saba are not. Therefore, theoretically Bonaire is more exposed than is the case with the 2 smaller BES-islands.
