Oranjestad- On March 3rd, 2019 the contract was signed in St. Eustatius for the expansion of the Gym Fitness Center at the Earl Merkman Sport Auditorium. The work to be done was awarded to Pavona’s Construction N.V.
The upgrading is one of several that will take this year on the Cottage Ball Park and will start immediately.
Director of Society & Wellfare, Carol Jack-Roosberg, explained that those using the fitness center would not affected by the work to be carried out by the contractor. “Provisions have been made with the contractor to ensure this”, said Jack-Roosberg.
Funding for the upgrading was provided by the ministries of Sport, Social Affairs and Kingdom Relations (BZK). The execution of the project will be supervised by Wederopbouw St. Eustatius, together with the Directorate of Infrastructure & Economy.
