Curaçao to Become Logistic Hub for Humanitarian Aid Venezuela
The Hague- Minister of Foreign Affairs, Stef Blok, has announced that the Dutch Cabinet plans to use Curaçao as logistical hub for humanitarian aid for Venezuela.
In a letter to Dutch Parliament, the Minister wrote today: “In the light of the major humanitarian needs in Venezuela – in consultation with Curaçao – the Cabinet has taken the decision in principle to respond to the request of interim president Juan Guaidó and the United States to use Curaçao as a logistic hub for humanitarian help. The cabinet wants to achieve this that the aid actually becomes available to the people of Venezuela. In consultation with Curaçao and the United States, the precise modalities will be further elaborated”.
Apart from the news of the possible logistic hub, the Minister also informs the Second Chamber in his letter about the efforts of Dutch Government so far when it comes to the crisis in Venezuela. The Netherlands, together with other European Union member state have recognized opposition leader Juan Guidó as interim president of Venezuela.
