Bonaire – The tendering procedure for the demolition of the old prison started on Monday, September 10th and a few specifications were made about the demolition work.
The specifications of the project states that the demolition work will start in October and will include : the wall on the side of the J. Abraham Boulevard and the area behind the post office be completely removed, the wall on the residential side be lowered to 1.80 meters, the wall on the side of the police station be lowered to 2.70 meters, the prison building be completely removed and lastly a new wall of 2.70 meters will be placed instead.
The partial removal and the lowering of the walls may cause some inconvenience, for example in the form of heavy truck traffic. However, extra precautions will be taken to minimize these inconveniences.
