Kralendijk – After a somewhat challenging start in the repairs made at the South pier in the bay of Kralendijk, clear progress is now being made.
This week saw the construction of a new mooring post. For this high-resistance concrete 62 cubic meters of concrete were poured in the early morning to finish constructing the mooring post.
The mooring post must ensure a better mooring configuration of especially cruise ships.
After pouring the concrete, this must harden for 21 days. After this period, the mooring post can be fitted with fenders. Now that the work is finally progressing according to plan, harbor master Flannegin hopes that the South pier will be ready in early December.
