Insel Air and Hatian carrier Sunrise Airways have reached a cooperation agreement, which will make it possible to book and travel on each carrier’s flight. In the future, the reservations systems of both airlines will be merged, according to information from Insel Air.

Sunrise Airways was founded in 2010 and operates flights out of their home base Port au Prince in Haiti to Curacao, Cuba (Havana, Santiago de Cuba and Camaguey) and Santo Domingo. These flights are operated by A320 jet with economy and business class cabins. Additionally, Sunrise operates domestic flights between Port au Prince and Cap Haitien, making use of smaller Turbo-prop aircraft.

Through the cooperation agreement, Insel Air will be offering flights again to the Domincan Republic’s capital Santo Domingo and Haitian Capital Port-Au-Prince again. With an intermediate stop in Port-Au-Prince, travel to the Cuban capital Havana is also possible.

Tickets for Sunrise destinations can be purchased at InselAir ticketoffices in Sambil and Hato Airport or via the callcenter (+5999-7370444).

Insel Air recently said they are aiming at restarting various destinations to which they previously flew, in cooperation with other airlines. Options for other flights making use of either wet-leased or dry-leased aircraft is also still being considered by the carrier, which still operates under bankruptcy protection.
