KRALENDIJK – FXDC Post has increased its postal rates as of January 1, 2025. A standard stamp for mail within the BES islands now costs $1.22, up from $1.01 over the past three years. This is the first rate increase since January 2020.
For a letter to the Netherlands, US and Canada the price increase is 18%, from $2.02 to $2.39.
According to FXDC Post, the rate increase was necessary due to rising costs and declining mail volumes. The postal company specifically points to increased costs in transportation, energy, and personnel. Meanwhile, the number of postal items being sent continues to decrease.
ACM
The new rates were established in consultation with the Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM). Higher rates apply to heavier postal items.
