Philipsburg – On 26 February 2020 the students of the VMBO of the Scholengemeenschap Bonaire (SGB) left for the Netherlands to participate in professional competitions organized by Skills Talents Netherlands. Together with a team from the Sundial school in Sint Maarten, they represent the Caribbean part of the Netherlands and participate in the annual national competition of Skills Talents where they compete against school teams from all provinces of the Netherlands for the title of best craftsman-/woman in their skill.
The team of Bonaire comes out in the skill of “Building, Living & Interior” and the team of Sint Maarten in the skill of “Hospitality”. The competition takes place in Leeuwarden this year, simultaneously with the skills competitions of the MBO schools. The students receive assignments that they must complete within a certain time. They look at their craftsmanship, execution of assignments, collaboration and speed of execution. The Skills Netherlands Caribbean Foundation wishes the participants every success in the Skills Talents competitions.
The participation of the students is part of the activities that the Skills Netherlands Caribbean Foundation organizes for students of the VMBO and MBO courses. The Skills Netherlands Caribbean Foundation is part of World Skills Latin America.
