Water and Energy Company Bonaire expands management team

Kralendijk – Water and Energy Company Bonaire N.V (WEB), announces the appointment of Mr. Gerrit Scharrenberg as Chief Operating Officer (COO) as of May 15th , 2020.
Mr. Scharrenberg has been appointed after a transparent recruitment and selection process in Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, the BES islands and the Netherlands. This recruitment process started at the end of 2019.
With extensive management experience spanning over two decades, Mr. Scharrenberg brings valuable leadership to WEB’s management team during a period of rapid change and growth for the island of Bonaire.

As COO, Mr. Scharrenberg will, among other things, be in charge of the following operational departments of WEB: Bu-Water, BU Waste Water, Bu-Electricity and the Safety and Security department. With his relevant experience and background, Mr. Scharrenberg will make a valuable contribution to WEB.

Mr. Scharrenberg is currently employed as an asset manager at Rendo N.V., a network operator in the Netherlands. He is active in the Netherlands in various national working groups. He is also a teacher of energy technology in Zwolle and has been a guest lecturer at the Technical University in Eindhoven for many years. Mr.Scharrenberg holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.eng) Electrical Engineering from Hanze University Groningen and a Masters of Business in Energy systems (MBE) from the University of Technology in Delft.
