Island Councils of the BES Islands Strengthen Cooperation on Saba
KRALENDIJK – On Wednesday, the Island Councils of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba launched a two-day BES summit. On the first day, the councils approved a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on structural cooperation and signed a commitment letter to formalize these agreements. Additionally, Bonaire and Sint Eustatius agreed to further strengthen their mutual cooperation.
On the second day of the summit, participants visited various projects on Saba, including the Hydroponics Farm, the Housing Development Project, and the Black Rocks Harbour Project. Discussions also focused on island development and future collaboration.
The councils expressed satisfaction with the outcomes and look forward to further joint initiatives.
Formal Approval
The draft agreements will soon be formally ratified in meetings of the respective Island Councils.
