KRALENDIJK - On Monday, April 27, King’s Day, the Wilhelminaplein in the heart of Kralendijk will once again be the stage for the annual Rotary Feria. From 9:00 to 15:00, Rotary Club Bonaire organizes the popular market, where bargains and support for local charities go hand in hand.
All proceeds go entirely to social projects on Bonaire. Last year, the feria raised $20,000, which supported, among others, hospice Kas Flamboyan, Stichting Mantelzorg, the Slagbaai kids weekend, S.V. Athene, and school performances of BiBé the musical.
Wide range of goods
The market has something for everyone: furniture, books, household items, clothing, and toys. Both new and second-hand items are available at sharp prices. "It’s a perfect opportunity to pick up something nice while giving back to the community," said a spokesperson for Rotary Bonaire.
Playground for children
For the youngest visitors, there is extra entertainment. Stichting WEDOE is organizing a playground with bouncy castles, face painting, games, popcorn, and cotton candy.
Donating items
Rotary Club Bonaire is still looking for items for the market. Anyone wishing to donate used or new items, from toys and tableware to furniture and electrical appliances, can get in touch via 780 7557, 795 2180, or 785 0809. Financial contributions are also welcome; the account number at MCB Bonaire is 83108802. All proceeds will be invested entirely on Bonaire.
