Public Entity Saba Announces Increase in Water Tariffs
THE BOTTOM – The Public Entity Saba has announced that the temporary reduction in water prices, implemented in 2024 with the support of a subsidy from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, will end on January 31, 2025. This subsidy was part of a broader initiative to alleviate financial burdens in the Caribbean Netherlands by lowering water costs.
As of February 1, 2025, water rates for Saba Splash and trucked Reverse Osmosis (RO) water will revert to the standard subsidized prices. These rates will remain in effect as long as sufficient subsidy funding is available.
New prices
The new prices will be $3.50 for a 3-gallon bottle of Saba Splash, $4.50 for a 5-gallon bottle, and $60 per 1,000 gallons of transported RO water. The Public Entity encourages residents to plan accordingly for the updated tariffs.
