Bonaire Breaks Tourism Records in 2024

KRALENDIJK – Bonaire achieved a record-breaking 182,181 stay-over visitors in 2024, surpassing its target of 180,000 set by the Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB). This marks a 16% growth compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019 and a 7.35% increase over 2023.

Dutch visitors made up the largest group (45%), followed by Americans (25%) and Curaçao residents (13%). The new JetBlue service, launched in November 2024, significantly boosted December’s arrivals to 19,522, the highest monthly total.

Visitors spent an estimated 1.76 million nights on the island, with an average stay of 9.8 nights. Repeat visitors accounted for 56% of arrivals, reflecting strong loyalty to Bonaire as a destination.

Elesiër Angel, Interim Director of TCB, praises the collaborative efforts between public and private sectors and emphasized the island’s commitment to sustainable tourism growth.
