IND Resumes Services on St. Eustatius; Additional Staff from Bonaire to be Flown in

ORANJESTAD- Following criticism on St. Eustatius that the IND services for weeks in a row were not functional, Rijkdienst Caribisch Nederland (RCN) sent out a press release showing that services of the local office in the meantime have resumed.

To fully support its services, additional staff will be sent from Bonaire as of 30 January. According to RCN, this will allow the IND to assist residents more quickly and efficiently.

The Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) on St. Eustatius announced in early December 2024 that limited services would be available from 17 December. This was a planned measure for operational reasons. Following the Christmas holiday, RCN states an unexpected situation arose due to the health of an employee, resulting in the temporary suspension of appointments. “The IND on St. Eustatius operates by appointment only. People whose appointments were rescheduled in December and January will be contacted to arrange a new appointment”, according to the release.

IND says to understand that the situation has been difficult. “The IND remains committed to ensuring smooth services on St. Eustatius”, according to the release.
