Washington Park temporarily closed due to muddy roads
Kralendijk- The heavy rains of past weeks have led to the temporary closure of the popular Washington Park. The Park’s management says the roads in the park are very wet with deep gullies streaming across the roads. The roads are now practically inaccessible to traffic. The closure will be, at first instance, for a total of 5 days.
After January 18 the condition of the roads will be evaluated again and the decision will be made whether to open the roads for traffic. For more information the Washington Slagbaai National Park can be contacted at +599 7889015 and information can be found on their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Bonaire.STINAPA.
The good news is that the museum at the park’s entrance, the Kasikunda trail and the Lagadishi trail are still open for the public and the entrance is completely free.
