Authorities Extend Designation of High-Risk Areas on Bonaire
KRALENDIJK – The designation of high-risk areas on Bonaire has been extended until May 19, 2025. This measure, which expired on January 20, was reinstated following an evaluation by the Island Governor, the Chief Public Prosecutor, and the Chief of Police. The designated areas remain unchanged and include parts of Playa, Antriol, Nikiboko, Nort Saliña, and Tera Kòrá.
The extension follows successful preventive actions in these areas, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of weapons and drugs. With upcoming events like Carnival and Dia di Rincon, the measure is deemed necessary to maintain public order. Preventive searches can be conducted in these zones without requiring suspicion.
