EZ Air Receives Their Second Beechcraft 1900
Willemstad- Tonight saw the arrival of EZ Air’s second ‘big’ airplane, the Beechcraft 1900D carrying the local registration number PJ EZY. The first Beechcraft had already arrived on November 8th, 2018.
The PJ-EZY was flown from Miami Executive Airport and made a stop at Providenciales in Turks and Caicos Islands to refuel, before touching down around 7.30 on Saturday night at the airport in Curaçao.
The flight from Miami, including the stop in Providenciales, took about 5.5 hours. Chief pilot at EZ Air, Franklin Antoin, told those receiving the crew at Hato’s Jet Center that the flight had gone very smooth.
EZ Air is still busy with the completion of their certification program, before they can start executing regular flights between the islands.
Apart from the 2 newly acquired Beechcraft, EZ Air counts with 2 Britten-Norman Islanders, which are mostly used for charter purposes.
Emotional
Present at the arrival of the Beechcraft was also member of the Board of Directors for EZ Air, Valdemar Marcha. “The arrival of a new addition to the fleet is always an emotional moment, especially for a new carrier”, said Marcha. “This is a new chapter in our local aviation history and the EZ Air team so far is doing a tremendous job”, according to enthused Marcha, who has a long track record when it comes to aviation on the Dutch Caribbean islands.
