Flamingo Airport Signs Contract with Progressive Air Services

The contract was signed by BIA interim Director Mario Bikker (l) and Jacintho Cicilia from PAS.

Kralendijk- Bonaire International Airport (BIA) and Progressive Air Services (PAS) have signed a concession today for the handling of airlines by PAS as service provider.

The concession, which has a duration of 7 years, contains agreements on the observation by PAS as Ground Handler to the high safety standards required by the airport.

The negotiations to reach a deal for the concessions with ground handlers has not been an easy one. The two biggest ground handlers, Air Handling Services Bonaire (AHSB) and Bonaire Air Services (BAS), have both repeatedly threatened BIA with legal action if the airport refused to be more reasonable with certain details of the ground handling concessions.

PAS handles, among others, the flights of Aruba Airlines. BAS handles among other KLM and American Airlines, while AHSB handles United Airlines and Delta Airlines.
