Off-duty officers fire warning shots at local night club
Kralendijk- In the early morning hours of December 16, police officers have fired warning shots at a local night club. According to information received from the Korps Politie Caribisch Nederland (KPCN), a group of off-duty police officers got into a heated discussion with other visitors of the establishment in question. At some point one of the men involved went inside the establishment, only to return with a group of men. As the situation by then turned menacing, the police officers saw it necessary to fire off warning shots in the air.
Police proceeded to arrest two men present at the scene with initials R.R. and A.B. over suspicion of unlawful gun possession. Indeed, two firearms were confiscated. After the altercation one police officer turned out to have a superficial wound to his head.KPCN is conducting further investigation into the incident.
