Royal Caribbean Seeks Caribbean Artists for New Cruise Ship

KRALENDIJK – Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) has announced that local artists from the Caribbean region have a unique opportunity to showcase their work to the world. Royal Caribbean International is looking for talented artists to create large-scale murals on its newest cruise ship, the Star of the Seas. This is part of the Artist Discovery Program, an initiative that highlights emerging artists from the region.

The program not only provides an international platform but also allows the selected artists to bring the atmosphere and culture of their homelands to life on the ship. Four artists will be chosen to each create a mural in different locations onboard. They will receive grants ranging from $20,000 to over $100,000 for their work.

Elesiër Angel, interim director of TCB, calls this an amazing opportunity for local talent. “Bonaire has a rich and diverse artistic community. This program offers our artists the chance to showcase their work globally and share our heritage.”

The selected artists will collaborate with Royal Caribbean’s design team and create their artworks in Turku, Finland, where the ship is being built. The Star of the Seas is set to sail in the Caribbean starting in August 2025.
