Oranjestad- The island of St. Eustatius is mysteriously missing from the list of destinations mentioned in the in-flight magazine of Winair-parter Air Antilles.

The magazine specifically mentions new destinations now served, which are all destinations of Winair. Mentioned and highlighted are Saba, St. Kitts, Nevis and Tortola, which are all Winair destinations.

Not only is St. Eustatius not mentioned as one of the ‘new destinations’ but the island is also absent in the total list of destinations shown in the magazine as being served by the French Antillean carrier.

CaribSky Alliance
Winair, Air Antilles and Liat recently signed an agreement where they would serve all destinations under an alliance dubbed CaribSky Alliance.

The fact that St. Eustatius is not mentioned, is a missed opportunity for the island, as passengers flying on the Air Antilles planes, such as on the route between Sint Maarten and Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire have no way of knowing that St. Eustatius is one of the destinations which is served under the partnership with Winair. It is unknown if the absence of St. Eusatius is an oversight by the Guadeloupe-based carrier, or if St. Eustatius for one reason or the other is excluded from the partnership between Winair and Air Antilles.

The BES-Reporter has, in the meantime, sent and e-mail to Winair’s Public Relations department to get clarification on the matter, which is not helping tourism in St. Eustatius. No reaction was received as of yet from the airline.
