Oranjestad- The report drawn up by the so-called committee of wise men, forms the basis for Holland to justify a total takeover of local government. The report rightfully states that the island of St. Eustatius has always been treated as a step-child and identifies many areas where the island has stayed behind, compared to the other island of the former Netherlands Antilles. The report, according to The Hague, justifies far reaching measures.
