Kralendijk- Management of the Washington-Slagbaai National Park in the course of this morning sent out a press statement, informing that the park will remain closed today. The exact reason for the closure was not provided. Management did say that the reason was something beyond their immediate control and that further information would be provided in a later stage.
Closures of WSNP are rare, but will sometimes occur in cases of heavy rain, as the dirt roads become very muddy with a high risk of cars getting stuck in the mud.
The press release did not state if the park would remain closed tomorrow, but judging on the exact text of the release, it can be assumed that the park will be open to the public again this weekend.
