KRALENDIJK – On Monday, during a press event, STINAPA presented the final event of the RESEMBID project: Lac Pa Semper (Lac Forever) Final Event.

This project plays a key role in increasing Bonaire’s resilience through habitat restoration, sustainable tourism, and water quality improvement. These efforts have strengthened conservation work and contribute to the responsible management of Bonaire’s natural resources.

During the press conference, Stinapa introduced its rangers and team and gave a brief presentation on the project’s achievements. Roxanne Francisca of Stinapa explained the scientific research conducted in the Lac area. Informational signs have been installed, providing details about fishing, wildlife, and plant species in the region.

New Boats

Additionally, Stinapa has acquired two new boats, which will be used for various tasks, such as monitoring the Lac area and responding quickly to emergencies. The boats will also aid in better managing the increasing problem of sargassum, a type of seaweed that is becoming more prevalent in the region. Monitoring and preparation are essential to minimizing the impact of this seaweed.
