Police Officer Bonaire Bought Gas for Family with RST Corporate Card

The Officer in question did not fill up his own tank, but also of his wife, uncle and father.

Kralendijk- On Friday, April 12th, the Court of First Instance Bonaire handled the case against the suspects E.A. and J.A-G.

The suspect E.A., a tactical investigator from KPCN, who was loaned out to the RST, had received a company car for the execution of his work and for commuting. To be able to fuel the car, he had also received a bank card with accompanying pin code.

However, research showed that he frequently used the bank card from the beginning of 2017 to October 2018 to fuel his wife’s vehicle, various jerry cans, an uncle’s and his father’s vehicle.

He also used gasoline from the RST car since August 2018 to supply his home with electricity. He shared this house with his wife and co-defendant, J. A-G. J.A-G, who is a senior officer at KPCN, was suspected of complicity in theft using a false key and misappropriation of funds.

The prosecutor’s claim for the suspect E.A. was a prison sentence of 360 days, of which 359 were suspended and a probationary period of 3 years with a special condition of 240 hours of labor punishment and for J.A-G a prison sentence of 100 days with a probationary period of 3 years year with a special condition of 80 hours of labor punishment.

E.A. was sentenced for theft to 360 days in jail, 359 of which were probationary with a probationary period of 2 years, with the special condition being 180 hours in prison, while his wife J.A-G was acquitted of all two facts.
