Kralendijk- In spite of the fact that the Government of Bonaire has in general been quite proactive in keeping residents of the island informed about the COVID-19 criss, tourists on Bonaire may experience a certain lack of information.

The BES-Reporter over recent days has been regularly approached by visitors to the island with practical questions. These questions range from requests for information about preventive measures implemented by the Government, to questions about flights (still) leaving the island.

While we do by no means pretend to possess all information, we are hereby providing some relevant & useful information channels and links available to English speaking visitors.

1. Free INFO-LINE/Call center

As of today there is a free Call center operational that will be able to answer a broad range of questions. The number of the call center is 0800-1351. Please note that the number can only be called from local (Bonaire) numbers! If you do not have a local +599 number, try having your hotel or host call the number on your behalf. The number can be called with no charges to callers.

2. Government COVID-19 website

The Central Government representation on the island (RCN) has set up an informative website with news items. The information is provided in 3 languages, including English. The link for the site is: www.rijksdienstcn.com/covid-19. New information is placed on a regular basis.

3. Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB)

The TCB is always a good place to get your information from as visitor to the island. Right now they have very important information especially regarding flights to the US that will still be operating. While the TCB can at this point in time still be visited in person, please note that they currently allow only 2 people at the same time inside the office.

4. ABC Online Media News Sites

ABC Online Media offers various news sites and some very active Facebook Pages. www.bes-reporter.com is an English-language news site with news about Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. Like or follow their Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/besreporter to be notified of new posts.

Another very informative website from the same news desk is www.bonaire.nu. While this is a online newspaper in Dutch, there is a translation button on the site for translation to English. You can also decide to follow them on Facebook: www.facebook.com/bonaire.nu
