Anti Human Trafficking Meeting held in Bonaire
Kralendijk- On Friday, October 18, the meeting “Prevention of human trafficking and labor exploitation: what can we do together” was organized by the Ministry of Justice and Security, together with the work group against human trafficking and smuggling. October 18 is the international day against human trafficking.
Human trafficking is also referred to as a modern form of slavery in an international context. Various public and private organizations were present at this meeting to increase knowledge about the subject, to discuss bottlenecks and to strengthen cooperation in tackling human trafficking and labor exploitation.
Present were representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (Kmar), the Labor Inspection, Public Entity Bonaire and trade associations such as the Bonaire Hospitality Group (BHG).
