ORANJESTAD – Concerns are being raised about the deteriorating state of the old terminal building at FDR Airport on St. Eustatius.
Although a new terminal has been constructed and is now in use, the old terminal building has been left standing, steadily falling into further disrepair. Currently, it remains unclear what plans, if any, exist for its future. Some have called for the restoration of the structure, citing its potential historical or practical value.
The old terminal building is currently fenced off, but its wooden sections are visibly worsening as the days pass. Residents and stakeholders are awaiting clarity on its fate.
