Great Backyard Bird Count

Great Backyard Bird Count

Join STINAPA on Tuesday February 14th at CIEE for a presentation on the Great Backyard Bird Count and on February 17th in a Backyard Bird Count event at The Cadushi Distillery in Rincon.

Every year, nature lovers all over the world including the Caribbean count birds in their very own backyards during one weekend in February. This year’s count is scheduled for February 17-20th. To find out more on how you may participate in the count (or if you just want to improve your backyard bird ID skills), join our biologist, Caren Eckrich, on the 14th at 7pm at CIEE at the Kaya Gobernador Debrot 26.

On Friday, February 17th STINAPA organizes an try-out garden bird count at The Cadushy Distillery in Rincon. Everybody is welcome from 15.00h-17.00h to help count the birds, ask questions about birds and, if they wish, to photograph them. In the garden of The Distillery Cadushy  you may find the yellow oriole, a variety of doves, vireo and bananaquits

Everyone is welcome and it’s free of charge. If you’re unable to attend, but would still like to participate or learn more, please visit gbbc.birdcount.org.

And if you have seen something special during the bird count, STINAPA would  like to be kept informed.
