KITLV Director Meets with Bonaire Island Council

KRALENDIJK- On Monday, January 20, Professor Diana Suhardiman, director of the Koninklijk Instituut voor Taal-, Land- en Volkenkunde and professor at Leiden University, held an introductory meeting with representatives of the Bonaire Island Council.

The visit was part of her trip to the Dutch Caribbean islands and Suriname.

The Island Council, represented by Daisy Coffie, Benito Dirksz, and Cyrill Vrolijk, emphasized the importance of collaboration in sustainable natural resource management, climate change, and social justice.

Collaboration

Professor Suhardiman, accompanied by Professor Francio Guadeloupe (KITLV/University of Amsterdam), discussed opportunities to further deepen existing partnerships on Bonaire.
