Owner of Bolivia Plantation, Meine Breemhaar, Passes Away
KRALENDIJK – Various Dutch media have reported the passing of Meine Breemhaar, the owner and driving force behind the ambitious plans for Plantage Bolivia.
Breemhaar’s plans were highly controversial among a significant portion of the local population, primarily due to the number of houses proposed for the area. However, others described the plans as innovative and beneficial for the island’s development.
The governing coalition, supported by PDB/M21/Vrolijk, had put discussions with Breemhaar on the back burner, as they do not agree with the plans as presented so far. It remains unclear what impact Breemhaar’s death will have on the development of the area, which comprises about 10% of the island’s total surface.
Breemhaar was a successful entrepreneur and owner of several companies in the Netherlands. He also served on the board of the PEC Zwolle football club. Through his business ventures, he amassed significant wealth. Before his death on January 1, Breemhaar had been terminally ill for some time.
