Press in Bonaire meets Island Registrar Jacqueline Harewood
KRALENDIJK – On Wednesday afternoon, the press was introduced to the new Island Registrar, Jacqueline Harewood. Harewood has gained extensive experience with the government of Aruba but recently decided to continue her career on Bonaire.
Shortly after her introduction, Harewood, together with ProDemos, launched the civic education program for the Public Entity Bonaire (PEB).
The program was explained, and attendees had the opportunity to participate in an interactive game specifically designed for Bonaire. The game’s aim is to inform youngsters in an engaging way about how the island’s Governance.
The educational project faced some delays, partly due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the program is set to be introduced in schools by January 2025.
