THE BOTTOM – The Saba Tourism Bureau (STB) is celebrating a significant milestone as Warner Bros Discovery films a segment for the globally popular television series Shark Week on the island.

This marks the first time the long-running series, known for showcasing fascinating underwater ecosystems, will spotlight Saba’s marine life, with a special focus on tiger sharks.

The production team is collaborating with the STB, Saba National Marine Park, and the Saba Conservation Foundation to highlight the island’s conservation efforts, including tiger shark tagging and marine preservation initiatives. Conservation experts Kai Wulf and Ayumi Izioka played a pivotal role in securing this opportunity through their expertise and advocacy.

Collaboration

The collaboration, facilitated by STB and its North American PR agency, Diamond Public Relations, began in 2023 and previously resulted in a feature on KTLA by Shark Week host Kinga Philipps. This week, Kinga and the crew return to Saba for a week of filming, capturing the island’s stunning above- and underwater landscapes. The segment will air in July 2025.
