‘Sport & Prevention Agreement’ Signed in Bonaire
Kralendijk – Wednesday, May 15, Commsioner Nina den Heyer and State Secretary Paul Blokhuis signed the ‘Caribbean Sports and Prevention Agreement’.
The signing took place during the meeting ‘For a Healthier Bonaire!’ that the WeConnect Foundation organized in Bonaire. Under the agreement the Dutch Government is making extra funds available to be spent on sports, but also on a number of health care issues which are threatening the health of the residents on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba.
Den Heyer said she wanted to go full speed ahead with the agreement, which revolves around the themes of obesity, sexual health and alcohol & drug abuse.
“We are going to solve those challenges as a community in Bonaire. The Public Entity sees itself as a ‘driving force’ in this project”, said den Heyer.
