ORANJESTAD- On Wednesday, the island of St. Eustatius marked a milestone with the inauguration of its new extended Solar Park facility. From now on, 55% of its energy needs is generated. 

This means that for at least 12 hours each day, Statia operates entirely on the power of the sun, setting an example for sustainable living.

The achievement underscores Statia’s commitment to sustainability and its ability to make a significant impact on the global stage, regardless of its size. Despite facing challenges, the island has persevered, continuing to lead the way in the global movement toward renewable energy.
