Bonaire – Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, Mrs. Schouten has shown high interest in reforestation and the planting of more trees all around Bonaire during our tour with her at Echo Dos Pos Conservation Center.
Reforestation is an effective mitigation strategy to fight global warming. In addition to benefiting the climate; reforestation rebuilds habitats and degradation which are the leading threats to the health of different plants and animal species. On September 7th we initiated the community reforestation work securing the fence and gates and digging the holes. This in preparation for our Big Tree Planting Day! To allow our team and others to help out on World Clean Up Day in Bonaire on September 21st, we have moved our tree planting day to September 22nd.
