‘Bobcat’ Job Training Concluded in Bonaire

Kralendijk - The ‘Society and Care’ Directorate of the Public Entity Bonaire has recently organized a job program for managing a Skidsteer (Bobcat). By following job programs, participants can acquire technical skills that increase their chances on the labor market.

Instructor Rafmildo Damascus was in charge of both theory and practical lessons provided during the past four weeks. The focus of was on safe and responsible operating of the machine.

A total of 9 people participated in the Skidsteer job program, of which 7 were able to complete the training with success. After obtaining the certificate, participants can function as a driver and work in the construction and civil engineering sector.

In her speech, Ingrid Sealy, head of the MOA department, congratulated the participants on their results and indicated that she felt particularly proud of the participants' motivation. “It was an intensive program that worked in the evenings and weekends”, said Sealy.

Sealy also thanked Rafmildo Damascus for the pleasant cooperation. “Rafmildo has fascinated the group as an instructor and transferred his knowledge with great patience and enthusiasm, so that the majority of the group successfully completed the program”, assured Sealy prior to the handing out of the certificates.

The MOA department regularly organizes job programs to promote participation in the labor market. Both the demand on the labor market and the needs of job seekers are examined. Interested parties can register with the labor unit.
