At times long rows formed of shoppers wanting to get their bag of “oliebollen”.

Kralendijk- The streets of Kralendijk were quite busy from early this morning with shoppers wanting to get their grocery shopping done in preparation of New Year’s eve. As always, the stand selling oliebollen in front of Van der Tweel Supermarket was very busy selling the Dutch treat for the New Year. January 1 is one of the few days of the year where stores are required to remain closed by order of the Public Entity. The other mandatory holidays are Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Christmas day.
