Bonaire to get New Nature Park/Hiking Trail

Kralendijk – The Wild Conscience foundation will soon be completing a project with the government.

This means that Bonaire has a new nature reserve that protects an area with caves and is a habitat for bats and birds. This area is behind the Sabadeco residential area.

A walk of about an hour has been plotted which partly runs over the cliff and partly goes past 13 caves. Some caves are accessible and some are protected because of the bats population.

The walking route is particularly intended for tour guides who will soon be able to follow a course for this. At this moment the route is not yet open to the public but it is expected that this will happen in June. Our colleagues from Bonaire.nu were invited to test the route and reveal that the new park is without a doubt an asset to the island.
