Bonaire Tourist Office hands out Golden Flamingo and Pink Egg at Vakantiebeurs

Kralendijk – During the trade fair of the Vakantiebeurs in Utrecht, the annual prizes were the Pink Egg and the Golden Flamingo, awarded by the tourist office of Bonaire. These prizes serve as thanks for individuals or organizations that have made a positive contribution to the development of the island and were presented by Gilbert Isabella, former Kingdom Representative and Ambassador of Bonaire. The following participants are also present from Bonaire: Plaza Resort Bonaire, Courtyard by Marriott Bonaire and Eden Beach Resort. Tourism Corporation Bonaire is represented by Online Marketing Coordinator Mrs. Crystel Pourier.

This year the Pink Egg was awarded to our colleague Rene Zwart from AD Caribbean: also from Kingdom Relations. On 1 December 2018 it was 15 years ago that the first edition of the Antilliaans Dagblad was published. Zwart has been involved from the very beginning and always kept everyone up to date with the latest news. TCB would like to thank him for this incentive prize.

The Golden Flamingo was awarded to Corendon, which has been active on Bonaire since September 2017 in cooperation with KLM. Recently they have increased the number of seats on KLM from 100 to 180 seats per week. A large marketing campaign supports this increase, which has made Bonaire a lot more in the picture at a broad travel audience in the Netherlands and Belgium.

This year the stand will be entirely dedicated to ‘Bonaire First Blue Destination in the World’. There is also a competition by means of postcards #WhatIsBlueToYou / #mijnbonaire. Participants are asked to fill in their details and place a photo on social media with the hashtag #MijnBonaire and #WhatIsBlueToYou.

New this year is the Dive tank. This is sponsored by Bonaire. Dive diving is offered in the dive tank by Het Duikhuis from Nieuwegein. There are two dive centers on Bonaire that support the dive tank and have extra promotion possibilities at the DiveFriends Bonaire and Toucan Divers.

Stand of Bonaire: Hall 11-A059
