Kralendijk- This year, more than 30% students have started the school year at the Intermediate Vocational Training section (MBO) of the SGB school for secondary education.

According to SGB, the achievement of so-called basic quality, positive news about the school, the the greater number of courses, the start of cooks training in Papiamentu have all contributed to the growth. Students and their parents see the MBO-section of SGB again as a reliable place where the future of the students looks bright.

Due to the increase in the number of students, the MBO has the opportunity to start all planned courses this year. SGB says in a press release that they are to provide all students with their training needs.

The students at the MBO-section started the new school year on Wednesday, August 22nd. The school year was, just as in previous years, preceded by a number of introduction days. Here students and teachers learn each other in a relaxed way. Especially for the first year an important moment in this new environment.

For example, the students of the ‘Media – AV Specialist’ program volunteered to do work at the animal shelter, in order to get to know each other better in a socially responsible way in order to stimulate mutual cooperation.

The teachers have also started the new school year with great enthusiasm. The minimal changes in personnel at the section create a stable learning environment for the students, something the school says they are proud of.
