Kralendijk- Today was the first day that vehicle owners could pass to receive the new license plates.

From before 8 AM, vehicle owners started to line up and the lines continued till late in the afternoon.

The Finance Department has placed tents and chairs so that those who have to wait, can do so without having to stand in the sun. Water was also made available.

Vehicle owners have till June 28th to pass by to receive their new license plates. The window to receive the license plates are open on all working days between 8AM and 6 PM.

Vehicle owners need to present proof of Road Tax payment for at least the first half of 2019 and also need to present proof of valid vehicle insurance. Payment for the new plates has to be done separately either at the census office or online, prior to the visit to the Finance Department. If the vehicle is owned by a company, an extract of the Chamber of Commerce is also required.

Residents or business who own more than 5 vehicles, should make an appointment prior to passing by. Appointments can be set up by calling 7175330 extension 2637.
