Echo plants 500 trees

Last weekend Echo’s first tree planting day took place. On this day, 500 trees were planted. This was the first of many. All the tree planting days will all be organized within the rainy season. Echo is planting out native trees to rehabilitate the natural ecosystem of Bonaire and to help the local Lora (Yellow-shouldered Amazon Parrot) get more food and a better habitat. We are planting out native trees in fenced areas spread out across Bonaire. This is a project funded by Openbaar Lichaam Bonaire. The goal of this project is to establish 10 one hectare fenced areas with around 20.000 planted trees in total.

Echo has fenced off 7 of these areas already and we will be planting out trees in the upcoming months. We need your help with planting those trees. The next tree planting days will be on 21 October, 4 November and 18 November. On the 21st of October and the 4th of November, we will plant out 1000 trees in our Saliña Tam exclusion area. This exclusion area is situated on the road to Playa Frans. More information about the locations of these tree planting days will be presented on Echo’s Facebook.
