Exco Bonaire Happy with Miss Tourism Initiative

Kralendijk- The Executive Council of the Public Entity Bonaire says they congratulate the new Miss Tourism Bonaire 2019, Rayshantly Coffie. Coffie was elected yesterday in a pageant at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel.

Commissioner of Economic Affairs and Tourism, Elvis Tjin Asjoe expressed his appreciation for the organization of the event, which is organized by the Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) and Angelo Domacasse in particular.

“I feel proud when I see that our own people can set up a show of this level,” said Tjin Asjoe. According to Tjin Asjoe, the figure of Miss Tourism Bonaire plays an important role in the promotion and marketing of the island.

Tjin Asjoe also said he appreciated the way the first chosen Miss Tourism Bonaire, Carolin Coffie, had fulfilled her role during the past year.

“We must not forget that tourism is the most important economic pillar of this island. I am happy to see that more and more of our people are playing a prominent role as ambassadors for everything we have to offer as an island, “said Tjin Asjoe.

Strategic Tourism Plan

The Commissioner also said that the current Executive Council has a special focus on tourism and that hard work is being done to achieve more economic returns from this industry.

According to Tjin Asjoe, the Executive Council is guided by the Strategic Tourism Plan that was drawn up by experts from the University of Central Florida.
