The Hague – The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management will shortly publish the results of the investigation into the possibilities of improving flight connections between Bonaire and Curaçao and between the Windward Islands and at the same time making them more affordable.

A ‘connectivity expert group’ is at work under the direction of Infrastructure and Water Management (I&M). “The ministry expects to be able to present the results after the summer. These will elaborate on the current situation (frequency, price and structural assurance), the public and private options to improve connections and the question of what role governments can play in this”, State Secretary for Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops

Earlier this year, at the request of IenW, the Economic Research Foundation (SEO) conducted the ‘Connectivity Caribbean part of the Kingdom’ study.

“The SEO study and the follow-up process have been explained by the Ministry of IenW to the Caribbean Netherlands Steering Group and through this body the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and other interested departments also remain connected. In addition, BZK, the countries and the public entities are involved in the topic through the meetings of the expert group, “said Knops.
