First visit Freedom of the Seas to bonaire

Kralendijk – The cruise ship ‘Freedom of the Seas’ of cruise company Royal Caribbean visited Bonaire for the first time.

During the inaugural visit: OLB, Tourism Corporation Bonaire, Maduro Shipping Agency and port office went on board for the welcome ceremony.

Captain Tomas welcomed everyone on board and explained his experience while traveling with Royal Caribbean.

During the ceremony the captain, the crew were welcomed and there were exchanges and symbolic gifts exchanged.

For the port office it was an extra special day because it was the first time that the newly built dolphin was used. The dolphin was built during the renovation of the pier and yesterday it was the first time that a class ship of “Freedom” could moor in Bonaire.

The Freedom of the Seas has a length of 339 meters. The route of the 7-night cruise takes San Juan Puerto Rico home. The ship has a maximum capacity of 6,000 people, of which 3,600 passengers and 1,400 crew members. The ship is now scheduled to visit Bonaire until January.
