Fresh Fruit for Saba’s School Children

Fresh fruit will be supplied to those children who need this.

The Bottom, Saba -The Sports & Prevention accord signed in The Hague today by Commissioner Rolando Wilson and State Secretary Paul Blokhuis will focus on various measures, specifically targeting sports and prevention of harmful habits.

One of the measures included in the accord is the distribution of fresh fruits at the schools for those children who need this. Another measure specifically targeting the youth, is the prevention of alcohol, tobacco and drugs use. This will be combined with more activities in the area of sports and movement.

Commissioner Wilson at the signing of the accord stated that he was very content with the signing of the agreement. “This is an important step forward in creating a healthier Saba where people feel fit. It is another great initiative towards the betterment of our community,” said Wilson.

The provision of fresh fruits to children who need this forms part of the agreement which will make 175,000 euro per year available for Sports and Prevention measures on Saba.
