The Bottom, Saba- Saba Island Governor Jonathan Johnson on Thursday hosted a meeting with his colleagues Island Governor Edison Rijna of Bonaire and National Government Commissioner Mike Franco of St. Eustatius.
This Island Governors Meeting was the first one again after a long time. The idea of the meetings is to share experiences that the Governors are confronted with on their respective islands.
Several topics were discussed, such as their shared request to The Hague for expansion of their powers, similar to the mayors in the European part of the Kingdom have on public order and safety, developments on crisis and disaster management and some general developments.
